Mission
The New Jersey Medical School Research Office is dedicated to facilitating the research endeavors of the NJMS Community. Our mission is to provide assistance in identifying funding opportunities, preparing proposals and managing awards.
Goals
- Provide information about funding opportunities through announcements and links to agencies’ websites
- Coordinate intramural grants programs
- Manage limited submissions
- Assist with coordination and submission of large multi-departmental grants
- Assist with grant writing and budget development
- Train groups and individuals regarding Federal, State and University guidelines and procedures
- Assist PIs with post-award fund management
- Liaison with OCRA, OCC, ORSP, DGCA, Finance and other offices of the University and School regarding research conduct and administration
- Develop, implement and interpret research policies
- Advise faculty and staff on the responsible conduct of research including issues such as the use of human subjects, animal protection, conflict of interest, and scientific misconduct
- Review and approve administrative requests such as cost sharing, cost transfers, pre-award spending etc.
