Advanced Preclinical Imaging Laboratory
The Advanced Preclinical Imaging Laboratory (APIL) at New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University, is a state-of-the-art core facility dedicated to enabling cutting-edge molecular, functional, and anatomical imaging for translational research. Our laboratory integrates a full spectrum of technologies, including the Milab VECTor6 PET/SPECT/CT for high-resolution multimodal imaging, the IVIS Spectrum for sensitive optical (bioluminescence and fluorescence) studies, a 1 T MRI scanner for detailed structural and functional neuroimaging, and the Skyscan 1172 micro-CT for ultra-high-resolution imaging. Supported by in-house radiochemistry facilities, APIL empowers investigators to develop novel radiotracers, interrogate complex disease mechanisms, and evaluate therapeutic responses across oncology, neurodegeneration, cardiovascular disease, bone and dental disorders, metabolic syndromes, and pulmonary pathologies. We provide collaborative project support, expert training, and end-to-end imaging solutions to advance preclinical discovery and accelerate the translation of new diagnostics and treatments.
